Barb and I have begun the process of building an addition to our Cottage. The blog will be a visual and written journal of the progress. There may not be a daily entry but as progress is made posts will be made frequently. Estimates for completion are from four to eight months.

Day 176
Into the 21st Century...
Today we completed the process of prepping the original "cottage" to blend it into the new construction. We did a conversion of a Florida room to year 'round usable space on the waterside about 14 years ago, back in the 20th Century...
The front of the cottage was water damaged as you can see from the top three pix...Derek worked on the waterside and wrapped it with Tyvek. The place is ready for siding which will begin next week.
While Rick will begin doing some finish trim work on the inside and outside, Derek will begin doing the landscaping by lowering the ground around the foundation. The scrapped topsoil will be deposited in the waterside to make the "front yard" more level. The downside is that there will be more grass to mow or at least mow it more often.
Plumbing will begin next week also. Appliances to be delivered on May 8th, may be stored in the Living Room for a little while...
The project is really ramping up now, stay tuned!!!
